General Purpose:
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for leading and managing the overall provision of HR services, policies, and programs for the organization. This role involves strategic planning, ensuring legal compliance, and implementing HR initiatives that support the companys mission, vision, and strategic objectives. This role oversees the development and execution of recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and benefits programs, ensuring they align with organizational goals and foster a positive, productive work environment.
Essential Functions:
Human Resources Management:
Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures the organization's compliance.
Responsible for organization compliance with federal, state, and local legislation about all personnel matters.
Conducts employee relations investigations and directs corrective action when required.
Consult with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the VP of HR, on personnel matters.
Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the organization.
The administrator of FMLA, Short-Term/Long-Term Disability, Leaves of Absence, and Staff Timekeeping for payroll.
Benefits Management:
Administer and oversee employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other related perks.
Collaborate with external benefits vendors to ensure seamless program delivery and troubleshoot any issues.
Conduct regular reviews of benefits offerings to ensure competitiveness and compliance with relevant regulations.
Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries and provide guidance on available programs.
Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in benefits administration.
Project Management:
Work closely with cross-functional teams to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and close projects on time and within budget.
Develop project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Identify and mitigate project risks, providing proactive solutions to keep projects on track.
Collaborate with project stakeholders to gather and document requirements, ensuring clear communication and understanding.
Prepare and deliver regular project status updates to key stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in human resources and project management, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience with Human Resource Management System software.
Ability to work cross-functionally, to proactively communicate, and to resolve issues with the highest sense of urgency.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
