Summary

We are recruiting a Human Resources Director for our client in NY State. This key role will report to the VP of HR and be responsible for developing and delivering HR strategies across multiple locations. As a strategic business partner, this position will work directly with the operations group to ensure the success of this manufacturing location. The ideal candidate will have extensive HR experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to partner with senior leadership and teams to deliver effective solutions. This role offers high visibility with the leadership team and provides opportunities to influence strategic decisions at the highest level.

Location

This position is not located in Albany, NY, but is within 100 miles of Albany. This is an on-site role and not a remote or hybrid position. Relocation benefits are available.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with local leaders in developing workforce solutions. Leads the execution of human resources initiatives for multiple locations and/or functions, regionally.
  • Partner with facility HR teams and HR Shared Services to ensure resolution of employee concerns and problems within these non-union facilities.
  • Advise Leaders on both strategic and tactical plans.
  • Deliver written communications and presentations, develop and conduct training.
  • Lead and manage workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and training efforts for leaders, managers salaried (exempt and nonexempt) and production/hourly, employees, students, and temporary employees.
  • Drive effective performance management by assisting employees and managers with performance management processes.
  • Collaborate within Human Resources, and document, and recommend continuous improvement of HR processes, procedures, or programs to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budget.
  • Work closely with the operations group to align HR strategies with business objectives, ensuring the success and growth.
  • Provide leadership in HR and engage with the senior leadership team to drive strategic initiatives and ensure the effective execution of business plans.

Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent education.
  • Certifications - SPHR or PHR preferred.
  • Minimum ten years of progressive experience in human resources.
  • Minimum of five years of leadership and management experience in a large, complex organization.
  • Manufacturing experience is a must.
  • Extensive knowledge of principles & practices of HR, HR regulations, and compliance for assigned locations and/or regions.
  • Demonstrated skills in employee relations w/ strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and use sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner and influence at all levels in the business and to be viewed as a credible, valuable source of information and integral part of the management team.
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate work with diverse groups of employees.
  • Foundational experience in building and/or delivering change management and organizational development plans.
