Job Description:

Jennie Stuart Health is seeking a dedicated and professional Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This full-time, regular/at-will position is based at the JSH-Medical Center and requires no travel. As an HR Generalist, you will be instrumental in performing HR-related duties at a professional level, working closely with senior HR management to support our hospital and clinics. Your role will encompass a variety of functional areas including employee relations, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action, and employment law compliance. You will manage the daily functions of the HR department, including hiring, setting up new employees in the payroll system, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. Organizational expectations include providing a positive and professional representation of the organization, promoting a culture of safety, maintaining hospital standards for a clean and quiet patient environment, adhering to infection-control policies, participating in quality improvement activities, and maintaining compliance with organizational policies for handling confidential patient information. Essential functions of the role include providing support and training in employee recruitment, hiring, retention, discipline, evaluation, and relations; executing HR programs; supporting recruitment functions; assisting with pre-hire and post-hire checks; supporting onboarding and hiring processes; providing data processing entry and administration support; conducting orientation and training; maintaining knowledge of company policies and employment-related rules; coordinating leave administration; serving as a link between management and employees; conducting record audits and mandatory reports; assisting with performance review processes; maintaining employee records; collecting and compiling HR metrics and data; preparing and presenting summary reports; and performing other duties as assigned.Required SkillsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field requiredPHR/ SHRM-CP certification preferredExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriateAbility to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentialityThorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulationsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related softwareProficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systemsRequired ExperienceMinimum of 1-2 years' experience in a clerical, secretarial, or administrative positionComputer literacy is essentialEffective communication and organizational skills are mandatory1-2 years' Human Resource experience is preferredExperience in healthcare or related industry is a plusExperience with HRIS and talent management systems is highly desirableProven track record of handling confidential information with discretionExperience in conducting training sessions and employee orientationsFamiliarity with conducting audits and compliance reviewsExperience in employee relations and performance management processesKnowledge of and experience with benefits administrationExperience in recruitment and staffing procedures
