The primary duties and responsibilities of the HR Generalist consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Exemplifies the Berry Behaviors and Values at all times. Leads by example and exhibits professionalism in all areas when representing Berry inside and outside of the plant.
- Embodies commitment for a safe workplace, and acts as a role model on safety leadership, activities, and communication
- Responsible for processing payroll for plant hourly associates.
- Interviewing and onboarding personnel; ensures legal compliance and consistency
- Data entrypayroll management, time clock, and employee entries
- Filing effectively maintain personnel, medical, training, and Form I-9s
- Staffing - temp to hire recruiting, works with approved agencies
- Effective use of AS 400 System and other applicable HR software - new hire set up, status changes
- Attendance tracking - monitor points, absence excuses, track warnings
- Tracks performance reviews for timely completion
- Training and development - works with HRM to assess needs
- Employee relations - assists HRM as needed
- New hire orientation - ensures benefits, policies, and employee needs are covered
- Benefit administration - provides employees with contact information, assists with benefit changes
- Unemployment claim administration - files timely replies, attends hearings as needed
- Maintains a positive working relationship with Group Leads and Supervisors
- Perform any other duties as established by the Human Resource Manager
- Responsibilities and Authority include assuring compliance with federal, state, government and/or any appropriate regulatory law or guidelines
Qualifications:
Human Resources experience 2-5 years
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or Social Sciences
- Excellent communication skills
- Good organizational skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft programs including Word, Excel and Power Point
