Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts (PPLM) is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our Human Resources team. The HR Generalist is involved in all human resources operations and ensures they are aligned with the business goals within our four Massachusetts Health Care facilities. Our ideal candidates should have solid experience with HR practices and employee management. Ultimately, you should be able to act as a consultant on human resources management and organizational changes. In this role, you will be part of a group of committed HR professionals where you can utilize your education and skills while making a real impact as a strategic partner.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form to 100% compliance.
  • Organize, schedule and participate in New Hire Onboarding, ensuring accurate and timely completion of the new hire process.
  • Process and maintain all workers' compensation claims, unemployment requests, FMLA and leaves of absence.
  • Ensure compliance for all regulatory agencies.
  • Serve as backup for Payroll administration.
  • Assign, track, and ensure the completion of training compliance for all employees through the use of spreadsheets and PPLM's learning management system (“the CAL”).
  • Coordinate and ensure timely completion of performance management reviews and related performance management activities.
  • Prepare employment status reports for payroll, HR and/or compliance purposes.
  • Assist with the scheduling of interviews, creation of offer letters, and conduct reference and background checks as needed.
  • Enable our employees to deliver the highest quality care in the communities we serve through the communication of human resources policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field required.
  • 3 years of prior Human Resources experience required.
  • Exceptional understanding of general human resources functions, policies and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local labor and employment laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to form and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to effectively deal with ambiguity and changing priorities.
  • Employee relations experience in a union environment a plus.
  • Previous experience with Learning Management Systems, specifically “the CAL,” or other Cornerstone Platforms strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people of different races, ethnicities, sexual and gender identities and expressions, ages, abilities and experiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate information effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Roles that are denoted as Hybrid require 1 day per week in the office unless the role is denoted as onsite, which requires working onsite full time or 5 days per week.
