PositionHR GeneralistLocation:Salinas, CAReports to : HR Regional ManagerTravel: Required (up to 15%)Pay Range $67K -85KJOB SUMMARYThis position is responsible for managing various HR functions, including employee relations, recruitment, performance management, benefits administration, compliance, and HR policy implementation. The HR Generalist will ensure the company adheres to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, with a particular focus on California employment law.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDirect all phases of employment including advertising, recruiting, and interviewing, testing, placement of personnel, orientation programs, exit interviews, and unemployment compensation hearings.Address and resolve employee relations issues, including conducting investigations and providing recommendations for resolution.Provide guidance to managers and employees on performance evaluation processes such as end-of-year evaluations and Quarterly One-on-ones.Coordinate all employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401K, STD, LTD, FMLA, and vacation.Administer time and attendance systems, ensuring accurate tracking of employee hours, overtime, and leave.Collaborate with HR Regional manager with payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local laws.Serve as a source of contact to managers, employees, and legal counsel on all human resource related matters.Maintain and administer all HR reports and records as required by state and federal laws.Maintain and update personnel files including I-9'sCompute, post, and maintain reports related to employee leave and absentees.Comply, and assist with the development, implementation, and enforcement of HR policies and procedures.Support employee engagement programs and initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture.Serve as an HR contact for satellite locations, addressing HR-related queries and providing support as neededAdditional duties as assigned by management.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEMinimum of 3-5 years of HR experience, preferably in an HR generalist role.Strong knowledge of HR practices, payroll processing, and time & attendance systems.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Computer literate (proficient in MS Word, MS Excel)Ability to travel up to 15% of the time to support satellite locations.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Knowledge of Safety/OSHA regulations.Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following:PHR certification, or similar.Experience working in a multi-location environment.Bilingual in English and Spanish.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret financial statements, general business periodicals, professional journals, operating and maintenance instructions, regulatory laws and manuals, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees of the company.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.TECHNICAL SKILLSComputer literate (MS Office including Word and Excel)Proficient knowledge and application of HR laws and regulationsPreferred Candidates with experience with ADPPHYSICAL DEMANDSEmployee is regularly required to walk and talk and hear, sit and stand.Inside the manufacturing plant an employee is exposed to loud noise and moving equipment.Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.LEADERSHIP ATTRIBUTESThe individual must possess the following:Superior time management skills including the ability to manage multiple issues concurrently and the ability to lead an effective and efficient meeting.Excellent crisis individual who demonstrates high emotional control under adverse conditions and can lead personnel to successful resolutions.Excellent employee relations skills including being an active listener, understanding how to appraise personnel, applying both positive and corrective feedback, being able to resolve conflicts either involving the supervisor directly or as a third party, understands and demonstrates positive motivational skills including coaching and delegation techniques.Demonstrated confidence including providing a consistent leadership style with an acceptable level of professional assertiveness.Perks of Pratt?Paid Holidays from DAY ONEInsurance benefits and wellness reimbursement program within ONE MONTH of hire6 Months: PAID vacation days12 Months: FULL tuition reimbursement and PAID childbearing and parenting leave401K VestingOpen Door policy
