JOB SUMMARY:

This position performs a variety of Human Resources functions including recruitment processes, employee relations, regulatory compliance, and training and development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations
  • Participate in the development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements
  • Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve the efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole, and to improve the employee experience
  • Ensure legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required
  • Lead talent acquisition and recruitment processes
  • Conduct employee onboarding and help organize training & development initiatives
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Assist supervisors and leads with conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
  • Explains human resources policies, procedures, laws, and standards to new and existing employees to ensure full understanding and maintain goodwill.
  • Processes employee relations issues and complaints regarding sexual harassment, discrimination, or other instances of workplace harassment and assists in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions.
  • Participates in plant management meetings as needed and follows up with the team on pending HR items.
  • Creates onboarding plans and educates newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations
  • Supports corporate human resource initiatives in development, implementation and follow up. Including Open Enrollment and Employee Engagement Survey.
  • Assists employees in group insurance benefit enrollment and 401(k) enrollments. Answers general questions regarding benefit programs.
  • Plans and coordinates employee events, including employee appreciation luncheons and holiday parties.
  • Assists with processing of terminations, conducting exit interviews, and responding to unemployment claims.
  • Partners with EHS to review the return to work process for workers' compensation claims.
  • Maintains and updates I-9 form documentation for location.
  • Backup to timekeeping functions at the location, and payroll/HR system processing of status changes.
  • Covers for Sr. HR Business Partner during absences.
  • Maintains employee personnel files in compliance with company policies and government regulations.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping human resource information confidential.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
  • Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of the position at any time.
