Our client in Fort Lauderdale is hiring for a Human Resources Generalist. This role will report to the VP of Human Resources
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review personnel action forms, employee updates, and documents related to employment changes.
- Post job openings internally and externally for new positions.
- Collaborate with recruitment agencies or post advertisements as needed.
- Coordinate and conduct interviews with department heads.
- Oversee the completion of pre-hire and onboarding paperwork for new hires.
- Administer drug screenings and background checks.
- Enter employee information into ADP Workforce Now and Employee Navigator.
- Process I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification through E-Verify.
- Maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, and use sound judgment in handling sensitive information.
- Assist employees with benefit enrollment using Employee Navigator.
- Reconcile benefit invoices.
- Review and verify timesheets for accuracy and approvals for assigned employee groups.
- Conduct employee counseling sessions with department heads as necessary.
- Complete termination processes, including conducting exit interviews.
- Terminate employees in ADP Workforce Now, iSolved, and update internal Excel records.
- Act as a secondary backup for Payroll Manager.
- Manage FMLA, personal leave requests, track statuses, and maintain required documentation.
- Assist with FAA-mandated random drug testing on a quarterly basis.
- Oversee Worker's Compensation claims from incident to return-to-work and update Form 300 as needed.
- Assist employees with work-related inquiries and concerns.
- Process employment verification requests.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefit laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing in English.
- Positive attitude and team-oriented approach.
