HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST As Human Resources Generalist, you will support talented and diverse employees throughout the school district who impact students' lives and transform student outcomes. You will accomplish this as part of a Human Resources team that collaboratively works with district stakeholders. Reports to: Director of Human Resources Qualifications: A dedicated HR professional with enthusiasm, passion, and a demonstrated track record of success. Bachelor's degree required. 1-3 years of human resources experience, including human resource management systems, such as ADP. We encourage HR professionals with a background in or outside education to apply. Responsibilities: HR Operations & Administration
- Respond to human resources-related inquiries
- Support best practices for employee retention in HR programs, procedures, and policies
- Provide back-up support to the ADP Payroll and Benefits Specialists
- Support open enrollment, qualified status changes, training, and employee and family communication for employee benefits programs
- Provide guidance to employees on Human Resources policy and procedure
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements and oversee employee labor laws and regulations to assure compliance
- Support the district's health and safety program, including OSHA compliance, and worker's compensation
- Work in collaboration with external partners (e.g., MEA Benefits Trust) to enhance health, wellness, and safety within the district
- Oversee leave of absence programs for the district, including FMLA, Maine FML, sabbaticals, etc.
- Maintain employee records and paperwork
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Human Resources
Strategic Talent Management
- Support Talent Acquisition initiatives, such as recruitment, selection, hiring, and onboarding
- Manage the continual refinement of the district's human resource management system
- Maintain job descriptions and positions for all positions
- Stay up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices
- Monitor key human resource and organizational metrics to support data-based decision-making
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advocacy
- Ensure a strong Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion focus throughout HR operations
- Support the development and implementation of district-wide programs, practices and policies that lead to a diverse workforce and inclusive culture
- Be seen and heard as a champion for all RSU 21 staff and students
