Job Type Full-timeDescriptionPosition Summary As an HR Generalist at Cooper Aerobics you will function as a liaison between human resources and the designated business unit. As a trusted advisor and partner to management, you will provide guidance, advice and support on all HR matters, including employee relations, talent management, performance management, compensation and benefits and organizational development. Building trusted relationships and exercising good judgement, you will work effectively across the organization bringing people together to build solutions. Get Cooperized™Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Act as primary point of contact to employees and managers of assigned business unit.
  • Provide full-cycle recruitment services including the creation and coordination of job postings, conducting phone and in-person interviews, preparing and presenting offer packages, completing background checks and conducting new teammate orientation and onboarding.
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues; under the oversight of the VP of Human Resources, conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Provide performance management guidance to line management (e.g. coaching, counseling, career development and disciplinary actions); facilitate the performance evaluation process.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention.
  • Support organizational effectiveness activities including leadership development and change management.
  • Deliver training programs to ensure success; follow up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to employment law, reducing risk and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct employee engagement initiatives; facilitate a positive culture, employee job satisfaction and company loyalty.
  • Provide support and guidance to employees and managers regarding the time-tracking, vacation, sick and other various systems and processes.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with respective departments.
  • Ensure employee files and records are properly and securely maintained.
  • Comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) while performing all duties.
  • Analyze trends in partnership with HR team to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and adhere to the Cooper purpose and core values.
  • Follow all Cooper policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Complete duties on site with consistent regular and reliable attendance
  • Accomplish other duties as assigned.
RequirementsEducation and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience, required
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a professional HR role required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state employment law required
  • Previous HRIS experience required; Paylocity preferred
  • SHRM and/or HRCI certification preferred
Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of business operations
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations and policies with the ability to interpret and apply within designated business unit
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address HR challenges and implement effective solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and gain consensus; effective conflict management skills
  • Ability to analyze workforce data to inform decisions and identify trends
  • Excellent time-management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
