Why We Need You - The Mission
At Widewail, we're laser-focused on building trust between local businesses and the communities they serve. Widewail develops software and delivers services primarily to the North American auto and property management industries. To help us accomplish our objective to build the most trustworthy reputation management software and services company in our markets, we are currently searching for a strong HR Generalist to maintain and ultimately build up and scale the G&A foundation at Widewail.
The HR Generalist will be the first full-time HR hire on a small-but-mighty back-office team that will scale over the next few years as the business grows.
As the Human Resources Generalist, you will be involved in a variety of tasks that provide your day variety. Your core responsibilities will be to support the Widewail team in a variety of areas, including but not limited to payroll processing, benefits administration, recruiting, employee engagement and wellness, monthly invoice reconciliation and other areas as needed.
Over the past three years, Widewail has delivered 50% annual growth and 120% net revenue retention while operating profitably. The company was bootstrapped by visionary industry veterans and recently partnered with ParkerGale Capital to fuel its next growth phase. Based in Burlington, Vermont, the company has built an enviable culture based on passion, focus, execution, collaboration, innovation, and transparency.

What You'll Accomplish - Your Performance Objectives
Objective #1:
Within your first 30 days, you will own Widewail's payroll processing.
· Get comfortable with current system (Gusto) and get up to speed on new system (Rippling)
· Process weekly (moving to bi-weekly) payrolls
· Become the go-to person for payroll-related questions from employees and management
· Ensure all state and local taxes are active and set up correctly
· Create and own procedures to onboard new employees
Objective #2:
Within your first 6 months, you will become well-versed in Rippling
· Help assist Widewail in moving off of Gusto and implementing Rippling
· Be able to run standard reports, with modifications as needed
· Have an understanding of the dashboard creation tool and its functionality
· Maintain and build on Rippling implementation features & functionality to make the most out of the system for yourself and employees
· Manage Performance Management process in Rippling, working together with managers to complete annual reviews
· Be able to fill in ESG reporting (quarterly) for ParkerGale
· Successfully communicate HR policies and procedures with Widewail team on a regular basis
Objective #3:
Within your first 9 months, you will be responsible for Widewail's benefits administration.
· Responsible for monthly invoice reconciliation for all of our benefit providers
· Ensure enrollments and terminations are processed timely
· Work with our insurance broker on any escalated issues from employees
· Help prepare the business for open enrollment for 2026
· Roll out employee engagement and wellness program by the end of 2025
