The HR Generalist will be responsible for managing administrative and clerical work in relation to the routine functions of the Human Resources department including onboarding, performance management, company policies and practices, and administering pay, benefits, and leave.   • Facilitate comprehensive onboarding for new hires, including employee handbook review and benefit enrollment
  • Educate and communicate company personnel policies and procedures to all employees
  • Manage the issuance of technical equipment (laptop, phone, etc.) to new hire when required, and work with IT to grant appropriate access to company data
  • Manage benefits-related tasks, including enrollment forms, plan inquiries, claims resolution, and coordination of annual open enrollment
  • Maintain employee benefits program and work with team to research and negotiate employee benefits package offerings
  • Work with team to develop and support mentorship and internship programs
  • Administer HR programs relating to compensation, benefits and leave, performance evaluations and talent management, recognition, and training and development
  • Ensure accurate and timely weekly payroll processing, including entry of time and payroll adjustments
  • Communicate with leadership to resolve discrepancies or missing information promptly
  • Record and maintain accurate employee data, including addresses, earnings, absences, performance evaluations, status changes, and termination details
  • Generate reports and provide insights to support decision-making within the HR department
  • Administer employee terminations and communicate details to Payroll Specialist
  • Manage 401k enrollment and withdrawals
  • Organize and coordinate employee events to promote engagement and morale
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of proven professional experience in Human Resources
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, or relevant field
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification highly preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish speaking) highly preferred
  • Knowledge of HR Information Systems and Payroll software; ADP experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, employee engagement, performance management, and applicable employment laws
  • Understanding of construction industry labor legislation and payroll process
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information and sensitive issues in a professional manner
