Reports To: Director of Human Resources

Summary Description: The Human Resources Generalist is trusted to provide a welcoming and educational experience to all new hires at Armstrong Teasdale through the management and facilitation of orientation. The Generalist will also assist the HR leadership team as they execute many business professional development functions such as trainings and annual evaluations.

Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Assists with pre-employment procedures: background checks, new hire paperwork, communication before orientation; corresponds with new hires regarding the status of their paperwork, as needed
  • Delivers orientation to new hires; creates and manages all orientation schedules across all offices for each newly hired attorney and staff to ensure consistent and productive onboarding and training
  • Maintains accurate personnel files which includes drafting and filing memos for personal status and compensation changes
  • Assists the HR leadership team with the planning and facilitation of the business professional annual evaluation process
  • Tracks and reports on new hires, promotions, transfers, and terms in compliance with the Firm's affirmative action plan
  • Facilitates both stay interviews and exit interviews for business professionals to identify trends and enhance engagement and retention; effectively balances business professional advocacy with strategic business priorities
  • Pulls reporting from the department HRIS and processes as needed for requested data
  • Understands the department's HRIS and serves as a back-up on the team for data entry in to the database for new hires, compensation changes, title changes, etc.
  • Supports the AT Connections, New Hire, and Mentoring programs as part of professional development
  • Participates in change initiatives and may lead aspects of a change initiative with assistance from HR leadership
  • Monitors various HR metrics to identify trends and inform data-driven decisions; provides proactive risk mitigation

Required Education: Bachelor's degree

Required Licenses and/or Certifications: N/A

Required Experience: 3-5 years working in a Human Resources department; excellent in Microsoft Office

Physical Activity: The employee will be required to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer
