Summary:

The Senior Human Resources Generalist, reporting into the Vice President of Human Resources, is responsible for handling worker's compensation administration, employee relations, training and development, benefits and leave administration, compensation, and assisting talent acquisition. This role manages adherence to State and Federal labor laws and develops company policies and practices in line with HR regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages workers compensation administration for all locations
  • Manages leave of absence administration for all locations
  • Maintains organized record keeping for HR related documentation
  • In partnership with Human Resources Operations Managers and Vice President of Human Resources, handles employee relations matters, including terminations and progressive discipline, supporting and guiding supervisors on all shifts
  • Performs HR transactions in Dayforce and WC Admin Site
  • Assists with the performance management process
  • Develops and implements Supervisor development programs
  • Manages rewards and recognition programs, as necessary
  • Collaborates with Health and Safety team to handle the interactive process and leaves of absence
  • Assists with hourly and exempt-level professional recruiting activities to support the business needs
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices
  • In absence of HR Operations Manager, reviews bi-weekly payroll for accuracy and completeness
  • Prepares monthly HR & Finance Metrics Reports
  • Partners with HR team to answer questions regarding benefit plans and deliver open enrollment activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual Language Skills (English/Spanish are a plus)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of CA and Federal employment-related laws.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of human resource generalist experience preferred.
  • HR Certification is preferred.
