Description HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALISTSTATUS:FULL TIME / BENEFITEDBecome part of the ARC Human Resource team!The Salvation Army (TSA), Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARC) is a no-fee program to assist men & women in completing our drug/alcohol rehabilitation program. Our employees share in the contribution toward maintenance and effectiveness of the program which provides a greater sense of purpose and opportunity.Our San Bernardino and Riverside Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a full-time HR Generalist who will provide daily, functional and administrative support to the Human Resources Department. As the first point of contact for employee's queries on HR-related topics, this role will support the Center Warehouse and Administration Departments, as well as a eleven retail stores the San Bernardino / Riverside area. The ideal candidate will have four years of HR experience, be self-motivated, reliable, detail-oriented and ready to meet the demands of the position.JOB SUMMARYThe HR Generalist is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day responsibilities in the assigned HR Department (s) including but not limited to: administrative tasks related to the smooth operation of an HR department, talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, worker's compensation administration, safety and minor payroll tasks.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:Recruitment and Onboarding: lead the recruitment process from job posting to pre-employment steps, to new hire orientation.Maintain and update staffing matrix on a regular basis.Update and securely maintain I-9s.Create new employee personnel file and assure they are maintained according to ARC Command/Review Standards.Submit entries into HRIS for employee changes, deductions, terminations, garnishments, etc.Run various reports as requested by using HRIS and other softwareRespond to employee inquiries and concerns and notify Regional HR Manager as necessary.Notify managers of upcoming employee evaluations scheduleSubmit TSAMM entries for Command FC ReviewSet up employees in OTIS Training website and assign training coursesReport new WC claims and collect necessary paperwork for work-related injuriesEnsure all required labor and legal posters are present at each locationBecome familiar with The Salvation Army Injury and Illness Prevention ProgramFulfill duties of Safety Supervisor as described in the IIPP when neededAssist with maintenance of OSHA Log 300 and 300ABecome familiar with company benefits offered and assist enrollment for new hires and annual open enrollmentAssist with maintenance of records for Authorized Drivers for ARC, including annual MVR and safety training.Collect, maintain and update required forms for DOT Driver Qualification FilesProvide backup to the Accounting office as necessary for HR/payroll related matters.Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties for this position.QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum of 4 years of progressive work experience in human resourcesA Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred, SHRM-CP or PHR Certificate a plusExcellent verbal and written skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailMust be able to prioritize tasks and handle deadlines;Must be self-motivated, able to work with minimum supervision, adaptable and able to handle confidential mattersProficient with Microsoft Suite or related software.Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn UKG softwarePossess and maintain valid Driver's licensePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and other office equipment.Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasksQualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. Additional weekly hours may be required.
