Division: Human Resources DepartmentSummary Description: The Human Resources Intern will directly assist the Human Resources team with a wide range of projects related to HR compliance, recruiting, onboarding/orientation, employee engagement and employee benefits.This internship is designed to be both educational and practical.In this position, the intern will learn how to take skills she or he may have acquired in school related to his or her areas of interest and apply them in a professional setting.This position is part time for one year, individual will work up to 20 hours per week.Academic and Trade Qualifications:Must be a current student enrolled at an accredited college or university, pursuing a bachelor's degree in human resources or related field required. Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program with an interest and aptitude to work in the Human Resources field.Work Experience: Experience working in an office environment is desirable but not required.Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing HR policies and procedures
- Assist with recruitment process (sourcing, screening, and scheduling candidates)
- Assist with employee engagement activities
- Assist with college recruitment and community outreach efforts
- Complete employment verification requests
- Administrative Support for Internship Program
- Preparing reports and documents pertaining to personnel activities
- Work with all social media platforms to support recruitment and branding activities
- Provide administrative support on projects within HR as needed
Job Knowledge: No electric utility knowledge required but expect to learn many facets of the human resources field, the utility business, and how cooperatives operate.Abilities and Skills:
- Ability to balance multiple tasks and manage time effectively
- Self-starter who is highly motivated and proactive that works well individually as well as collaboratively
- Task oriented with a high attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and social media platforms including Facebook, X, and Instagram
- Strong communication skills
