Scope of Work:The HR Manager will be providing comprehensive strategic guidance to internal customers. Ensures all human resources functions and activities run effectively and efficiently, in accordance with WPI's Code of Conduct and Core Values. Carries out responsibilitiesacross the HR Generalist spectrum, including the following areas: recruiting, on-boarding, transaction preparation and processing, process and procedure development and interpretation, benefits, training and communication. Oversee and direct day-to-day operations of HR staff and encourage development of staff.Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Supports key HR business partnership efforts in performance appraisal process, salary administration process, succession planning and organizational design
- Oversees timely and efficient transactional processes such as new hires, transfers, pay increases, promotions, and organizational design
- Manages and provides support, coaching, training, constructive feedback, and mentoring to human resources staff
- Monitors budget for HR team, including approval of travel and other expenses
- Promotes leadership effectiveness and compliance with HR policies and programs through coaching
- Provides direction and support for various human resources functions including, recruitment, compensation, benefits, and training
- Works closely with Recruiting team and 3rd party staffing firms to review contracts, and streamline recruiting initiatives
- Provides coaching and guidance to managers in identifying and analyzing training and development needs of their employees including, but not limited to, HR processes, performance management, employee development, compensation and succession planning
- May facilitate and co-facilitate training with Training team to support organizational goals
- Facilitates Performance Management process including, 90-day reviews, mid-year reviews and annual performance reviews
- Maintains and the compensation wage range chart based on market data, CPI and SSA, to ensure WPI's pay ranges remain equitable and competitive
- Partners with managers to create and update job descriptions
- Creates new job titles/categories
- Conducts compensation market research for existing and new job titles
- Responsible for accuracy of data information entered and maintained in the HR Information System
- Prepares and delivers internal employee HR communications on HR subjects including employee relations, compensation, benefits, policies, and processes
- Partners with HR Management with planning and implementation of team goals
- Gathers and analyzes data with useful HR metrics; prepares reports for internal customers
- Continuously monitors employment legislation and ensures compliance for each state/region of operation, including changes to minimum wage rates, job posting requirements, drug law reforms, pto calculation, etc.
- Maintains confidentiality of all associates, company, and customer information
- Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
- Manage new hire orientation program, and assist with facilitating NHO
- Perform exit interviews as needed
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of eight (8) years in Human Resources required
- Minimum of three (3) years managing HR Professionals or in a lead role
- Must have a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline preferred
- Advanced knowledge of US Federal and State employment laws
- Fluent in Spanish (preferred)

- Advanced knowledge of federal and state labor laws and other applicable employment laws (HIPPA, ADA, COBRA, FLSA, FMLA, and ERISA)
- Ability to build rapport, gain credibility, and partner with leaders and stakeholders across the organization
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
- Typical hours of work Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Extended hours may be required and weekend hours as necessary
- Some travel required
- Office/Indoor work
