Job Summary: The HR Manager, Employee Relations, will oversee all aspects of employee relations within our regional healthcare delivery system. This role is critical in fostering a positive workplace culture, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and supporting the overall well-being of our staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a deep understanding of healthcare regulations, and a commitment to enhancing employee engagement.* Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.* Organizes, implements, directs, and evaluates the organization's HR employee relations function and performance.* Develops, coaches, directs and evaluates the work of the HR Partners team across the organization to build and maintain a strong functional employee relations team.* Analyzes current policies, processes, and procedures currently in place and recommends improvements, driving implantation through collaboration with key stakeholders and strong change management processes.* Enhances or develops, implements, and enforces HR policies and procedures of the organization by the way of systems that will leverage personal development, feedback, and coaching to increase organizational effectiveness by elevating staff performance.* Protects the interests of employes and the organization by complying with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising leadership on needed actions.* Determines, recommends, and implements employee relations best practices necessary to foster open communication and feedback between staff and leadership to cultivate authentic relationship which drive collaboration and trust creating a positive employee relations environment and promoting organizational health.* Serves as internal expert for the HR Partner team and organization's leaders to provide advice and counsel on all aspects of HR programs, events, policies, and practices including but not limited to :employee services, HR policies, internal reviews, leave of absence, open enrollment, hardship analysis, dispute resolution, third party inquiries, employee appreciation functions, services award, employee forums, employee survey administration and response, and employment/legal risk management.* Establishes and maintains credibility throughout the organization to be an effective listener and problem solver of people issues.* Supervises and monitors HR employee relations programs, systems, and procedures to ensure on-time delivery of customer needs for HR offices on all campuses and throughout the employee population within established financial budgets.* Ensure appropriate Human Resources metrics for service, quality and regulatory body compliance measures are met and appropriate analysis and trends are monitored and reported for action and continuous improvement.* Provides supervision of the HR Partner team which serves as an internal resources for leaders and employees by providing advice and counsel on HR related issues, policies, and practices including but not limited to employee services, HR policies, internal reviews, leave of absence, open enrollment, hardship, analysis, mediation, third party inquiries, and employment/legal risk management.* Act as a mediator in employee disputes, conducting thorough investigations and resolving issues in a fair and consistent manner.* Design and deliver training programs on conflict resolution, performance management, and diversity and inclusion to promote a respectful workplace.* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including labor relations, workplace safety, and discrimination policies.* Work closely with department managers to provide guidance on employee relations matters, including performance issues, disciplinary actions, and terminations.* Prepare and analyze reports on employee relations metrics and trends to inform leadership and drive continuous improvement initiatives.Qualifications/Training:* 7+ years of HR Generalist with management experience required with at least 5 years focus in Employee Relations* Knowledge of Federal and State employment laws, Regulations, and other rules relative to employee relations, compensation and benefits including but not limited to FMLA, FLSA, ADA, ADEA, EEOC, NLRA, ERISA, section 125 of the IRS Code.* Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.* Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.* Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.* Proficiency of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Education/Certifications/Licenses:* Bachelor's and/or Master's in Human Resources or related field or 7+ years of HR Generalist experience.Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses.
