Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, an international law firm, is actively recruiting a Human Resources Manager in the New York office. This position manages professional staff human resources initiatives for the New York and Boston office to ensure HR strategies and service delivery objectives are aligned with firm business needs. Provides support to the functional areas of human resources including staff performance management, employee relations, coaching and counseling, compensation, budgeting, employment, orientation and staff professional development, retention and departures.RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:1. Collaborates with administrative department heads and team/office leaders in developing and implementing effective human resources strategies to support business objectives and enhance services delivered.2. Ensures that all aspects of employment, terminations, employee relations, and policy administration are handled in accordance with legal requirements and the firm's best practices.3. Manages the professional staff recruiting function to ensure that employment, diversity, and affirmative action objectives are met.4. Partners with administrative departmental managers and team/office leaders to assess staffing needs; provides counsel regarding firm expectations; recommends and implements creative staffing solutions that meet ongoing firm expectations and business needs; provides counsel regarding implementation of new staffing arrangements, communications and post-implementation issues.5. Manages professional staff orientation programs and exit interviews; regularly reviews programs to ensure they are successful in meeting employee needs and firm objectives.QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Bachelor's degree required.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience managing projects or processes required, preferably in a law firm, professional services, or other client relationship-based organization. Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.Other Minimum Qualifications: Travel may be required. Availability and willingness to work hours as needed to meet critical deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications. Strong commitment to client service excellence and teamwork. Must possess the highest standards of ethical conduct and professionalism. Must act as catalyst for change, drive and own results. Creative and innovative. Excellent communication skills (oral, written and listening) and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse group of professionals. Sound judgment and flexibility. Ability to work well under pressure, patience, diplomacy, high stress tolerance, excellent interpersonal communication skills, ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing conditions. Visual acuity needed to process and read extensive written communications. Ability to receive and convey detailed information through oral communication. Essential competency processes include language ability, reasoning and memory. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must possess the abilities or aptitudes to proficiently perform each of the responsibilities and accountabilities described above, with or without reasonable accommodation.The expected salary range for New York City based employees is $141,200 to $225,000, though salaries for employees based outside of New York City may differ.
