Position Summary:

THE FOCUS IS YOU:

We are looking to add a Human Resources Manager to support our Northeast offices. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating human resource management activities to maximize the strategic use of human resources, as well as maintain functions such as employee compensation, recruitment, personnel policies, and regulatory compliance.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Regular duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting, and administering contracts and helping resolve work-related problems.
  • Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion and employee benefits.
  • Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems, and safety and recreation programs.
  • Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates.
  • Advise managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommend needed changes.
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
  • Handle employee complaints/investigations.
  • Interact with Managing Directors to ensure compliance with HR processes.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Experience

  • 6+ years of experience in an HR role
  • Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Management of Personnel Resources - Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
  • Writing - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Negotiation - Bringing others together and trying to reconcile differences.
  • Computer Skills Ability to operate spreadsheet, word processing and email programs. Familiarity with and ability to operate HRIS system.
  • Training Ability to train other HR team members on processes of team and train new hires on firm processes.

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources

License/Certification

  • PHR or SPHR a plus

For job postings in our Albany and Hudson Valley offices, we are required by law to include a good faith salary range for every job, promotion, and transfer opportunity in accordance with the New York Human Rights Law. This range considers many factors, including but not limited to a candidates knowledge, job specific skills, experience, licensure, and certifications. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $93,000 to $130,000.
