This area is a great location for commuters and residents of the Nashville, TN and Clarksville, TN areas. We also have manufacturing facilities located in Shelbyville, Indiana and Monterrey, Mexico. Our Corporate Headquarters reside in Adrian, Michigan. What the position entails: As a member of the Brazeway KY Leadership Team, the HR Manager will oversee the human resources functions within the plant. This role involves managing employee relations, timekeeping, payroll, benefits, recruitment, compliance, performance management, training, communication, and workforce planning to support the unique needs of the BK facility. This role will also lead the fostering of a positive working environment and promote teamwork. Major Responsibilities:
  • Serves as primary resource to employees & supervisors when dealing with personnel and confidential issues.
  • Leads the recruitment and orientation process for direct and indirect labor, assuring all employees receive the proper knowledge and training to conduct their roles in a safe working environment.
  • Ensures that payroll is processed on time and accurately with a solid review and understanding of payroll, wage and hour laws, bonuses, taxes, and deductions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Stays updated with changes in HR, payroll, tax, HR laws and regulations.
  • Prepares payroll reports for management and provides analysis for budgeting and forecasting purposes.
  • Evaluates compliance and efficiency, make recommendations for improvement, and follow-up on corrective actions by conducting audits of personnel policies and manuals, procedures, PBL, and safety programs.
  • Coordinates internal communications including employee handbooks and internal postings. Supplies corporate with necessary plant information. Coordinates external communications including newspaper articles & press releases.
  • Maintains records for job certification training. Works closely with Production Manager to ensure all employees receive necessary training in a timely manner and is responsible for the scheduling of training sessions as required.
  • Handles other administrative matters as needed such as the disciplinary process and legal issues. .
  • Actively works with Corporate HR and HR representatives at each manufacturing facility to share information, discuss best practices and implement improvements to update or streamline HR policies and procedures as needed.
  • Represents Brazeway Kentucky externally in the community, creating relationships with local business associations, HR professionals, local government offices and non-profit organizations. Collaborates with the community leaders to ensure Brazeway supports community needs and remains an employer of choice in the area.
  • Champions a safe work environment by enforcing safety rules and encouraging safe work behaviors. This includes compliance with government regulations and Brazeway's 5S + Safety programs.
  • Completes any other special projects as identified by the Plant Manager.
  • Actively supports and manages within Brazeway's mission, vision, Code of Conduct and Process Based Leadership guidelines.
  • Collaborates and partners on innovative recruiting and retention best practices.
What a candidate must have to be qualified for the role:
  • Bachelor Degree in HR or Business related field
  • SHRM or HRCI Certification
  • 7-10 years experience in Human Resources
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong analytic, organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent people, communication, written and presentation skills
  • Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and a proven track record of timely project completion
  • Excellent customer service abilities while maintaining strict confidentiality
  • Self-motivated and effective in time management
  • Strong commitment to a team environment
