Summary/Objective

The Human Resource Manager will be responsible for day-to-day management of ACS's human resources activities including the the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department. These include hiring and interviewing potential employees, processing weekly and biweekly payrolls, conducting new hire orientation and benefits enrollments, tracking PTO and leaves, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Essential Functions

  • Serve as point of contact for employees and managers for all HR related matters. Works to provide solutions to issues that are satisfactory to the employee and in the best interest of the organization.
  • Process hourly and salaried payrolls and any special runs using the current HRIS system. Ensure accuracy in employees' pay and withholding information. Perform regular system audits.
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which will include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants.
  • Manage and maintain accurate human resources files and data, complete compliance reports, complete survey requests, etc.
  • Create and conduct new hire onboarding and orientation processes. Manage separations and offboarding of employees.
  • Conduct benefits enrollment working closely with brokers, carriers and service providers as needed. Answer employee questions and assist with resolving issues related to eligibility and claims.
  • Assists in creating learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Assists with the performance management system, ensuring performance improvement plans are developed and tracked appropriately.
  • Assists with planning and hosting regular employee events and meetings. Actively building and maintaining positive relationships with all employees.
  • Remains actively involved in community events and represents ACS in forums and boards such as chamber meetings, etc.
  • Assists with employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations; working closely with the SVP and other company managers as required.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. Provides appropriate counsel to company managers.
  • Works closely with and supports the EHS Manager to ensure safe working practices and managing the company's workers compensation program.
  • Assists in AS9100 compliance audits; assists in ITAR compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law and makes recommendations for changes and improvements in HR policies and processes based on current information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct reports but must be able to influence and work well with others to be successful.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This job operates in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. This role routinely uses and/or is exposed to equipment used in the composites manufacturing process, cutting devices, hand tools, computers, handheld scanners, etc. Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for up to 10 hours per day. Must be able to repetitively lift to 30 lbs.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during day shift hours. Evening and weekend overtime work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Limited travel up to 10% may be required for various training activities.

Requirements:

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; plus
  • A minimum of seven years of progressive human resource management experience in a manufacturing environment; or
  • A combination of education and relevant experience in lieu
  • HR certification is a plus
