Job Description:

ON-SITE - Develops, implements and administers policies and procedures relating to all areas of human resources, including employee relations, recruitment, training, performance management, compensation and benefits and Health, Safety and Environmental activities. Trains managers and supervisors in areas of leadership and progressive management. Ensures Human Resources department provides prompt, courteous and efficient service to employees. Directs and coordinates a team of Human Resource professionals

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides Human Resources related services to all employees to maintain good, effective communication and working relationships.

Ensures availability to all shifts, in a reasonable manner.

Provides service to all employees on interpretation and administration of HR polices and procedures.

Ensures compliance with all applicable legislated requirements.

Work with a team to recruit, screen, interview and recommend prospective new hires.

Ensure that new hire and benefits orientations are conducted appropriately and timely.

Manages total compensation and payroll execution.

Responsible for the effective administration of the applicable sections of QS-9000 / TS16949 and ISO14001.

Responsible for updating and maintenance of HRIS to ensure data integrity.

Encourages the ongoing development of all staff and champions talent management and succession planning initiatives.

Acts as coach and subject matter expert in leadership and employee development.

Responsible for the development and implementation of new HR programs and initiatives.

Exhibit discretion and treat with confidentiality sensitive information, whether it is spoken or written.

Ensure that the Company's Employee Handbook is maintained with current information and that information communicated to all employees.

Facilitate and actively participate in the Monthly Employee Meetings.

Well versued in all relevant employment laws including FLSA, OHSHA, FMLA, etc.

Will assume responsibility for ensuring that the Health & Safety Program is properly implemented and performing to requirements in all locations and spheres of operation within the organization. Management shall provide resources essential to the program's implementation, control and improvement. Shall ensure that reports on the performance of the Health & Safety Program are presented to top management for review and as a basis for improvement.

Specific accountabilities for safety include, but are not limited to performing regular workplace inspections, conducting safety talks, staff meetings, cell meetings, actively participating in accident/incident investigations, training new employees, identifying and correcting unsafe acts or conditions, identify, correct or commend health and safety performance and conducting performance appraisals for workers' safety performance.

Prepares and presents information including workforce analytics for operations and management review on a monthly basis.

Promotes and implement divisional business strategy and the organization's culture.

Works independently, setting own pace and schedule.

Interpretation of benefits, including Supplemental Health, G.R.S.P/401k and D.P.S.P., etc. Other reasonable duties as assigned by the General Manager.

MANAGERIAL / SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:

Provides guidance to supervisors and managers in all Human Resources related objectives.

Within the HR department, provides managerial guidance to ensure the effective discharge of the duties and responsibilities of the various reports within the human resources department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Post Secondary accreditation in Human Resources and accreditation in the profession (eg.SHRM -CP) preferred

Minimum 4 years experience in a HR role preferably in manufacturing.

Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.

High self motivated and flexible.

Must be capable of working under pressure with short completion times on projects and of working flexible hours in order to meet both internal and external customer requirements.

Ability to work independently and under limited daily supervision.

Previous experience with HRIS an asset.

Must be familiar and have working knowledge of TS16949 and ISO14001 procedures.

Sound knowledge of employment, health & safety and environmental legislation.
