Job Description:

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced General HR Manager to join our team specializing in centrifugal air and gas compressor systems for the oil and gas, power, and air separation industries. The HR Generalist will play a key role in the success of the organization by offering guidance on recruitment, terminations, performance management, employee relations, and HR best practices while facilitating a positive relationship between personnel and senior management. This experienced individual, skilled in a wide range of HR functions, will be a vital contributor to the team, ensuring the organization remains compliant with existing and updated laws.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Manage the recruitment process from role definition through interviewing and hiring.
  • Craft job descriptions, screen resumes, conduct initial interviews, and coordinate hiring efforts with managers for final selection.
  • Oversee onboarding efforts and assist with new employee orientation.

Compliance and Policy

  • Ensure all employment practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Inform and update employees on company policies and procedures, both existing and new.
  • Maintain employee records through a human resource information system (HRIS) or a filing system that is compliant with applicable laws.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, resolving workplace issues effectively to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Advise management on appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Facilitate communication between employees and management, including feedback sessions and conflict resolution.

Performance Management

  • Administer and explain benefits to employees, serve as liaison between employees and insurance carriers.
  • Support the implementation of performance review systems that drive high performance and support the professional development of staff.

Training and Development

  • Assess training needs and coordinate learning and development initiatives for all employees.
  • Assist managers in the development of succession plans and employee promotion paths.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Participate in compensation management, implementing a sustainable strategy that attracts and retains high-quality employees.
  • Administer or oversee the benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and deletions.

Offboarding

  • Assist with the termination process, conducting exit interviews, and collecting feedback for organizational improvement.

Requirements / Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; HR certification (e.g., PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in an HR role with exposure to all major HR functions.
  • Thorough understanding of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and HRIS systems.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work to maintain efficiency.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Bilingual in Korean a plus.
  • Office based role in Houston, Texas with hybrid work environment available.

Hanwha Power Systems Americas (HPSA) offers a dynamic and challenging work environment with benefits including generous Paid Time Off, Medical, Dental, Life Insurance and 401(k). HPSA will assist with normal moving expenses.
