Job Summary
Provide HR leadership and support, offering guidance to administrators, managers, and staff on human resources matters. Interpret and apply HR policies, procedures, and laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and worker's compensation regulations. This role requires knowledge of payroll practices and recordkeeping to maintain precise and secure fiscal records in line with organizational, state, and federal standards.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and support all HR functions for the center, including recruitment, staffing, onboarding, benefits, employee relations, disciplinary processes, policy interpretation, and adherence to HR laws.
- Offer recommendations on employee relations matters, such as recruiting, compensation, appraisals, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Interpret and advise on policies and procedures in the employee handbook.
- Conduct investigations related to disciplinary issues, gathering statements and relevant evidence to advise management on appropriate actions.
- Oversee FMLA, ADA, and worker's compensation cases, ensuring timely and accurate documentation, and support employees returning with medical limitations.
- Address HR policy and procedural questions; assist with form completion and ensure compliance with HR policies.
- Maintain the Human Resources Information System, ensuring data accuracy and record completeness, and produce requested reports.
- Organize and maintain manual HR filing systems, storing hard copies of essential HR records and securely maintaining medical-related documents in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Track FMLA, worker's compensation, ADA, and other leave statuses per established policies and legal requirements.
- Protect confidentiality across all HR and payroll records, communications, and interactions within the center.
- Assist the Administrator and leadership team in distributing information on HR topics such as benefits, compensation, and policy updates.
- Serve as the point of contact between the center and leadership on HR matters and manage the Open Enrollment process.
- Review timesheets and troubleshoot payroll issues, maintaining attendance records, tracking PTO, FMLA, and other leave requests, and advising management on attendance concerns.
- Maintain a positive and professional work environment through effective communication and relationship-building with all stakeholders.
- Assist with special projects as needed, including training and assessments at various locations.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HR practices and payroll processing.
- Ability to organize and manage confidential records.
- Effective communication skills to interpret and enforce policies.
- Ability to maintain HR records accurately and timely.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- 5 years of HR experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred.
