This position is multi-faceted with a scope of responsibility that includes serving as the EEO Coordinator for the Departments and providing guidance and interpretation of bargaining agreements, civil service law, and rules.This position works closely and in cooperation with the Service Center agencies, the State EEO Coordinator, multiple labor unions, and other government agencies in providing support across all levels of the organizations we serve. Exemplary customer service, interpersonal skills, and the ability to build relationships are critical in this role.About Us:The General Government Service Center is dedicated to providing exceptional human resources and employee relations services to various government departments. We are currently seeking an HR Manager to join our team.Role Overview:You'll play a crucial role in administering the Family Medical Leave (FML) and the americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) process for the service center, conducting administrative investigations, report writing, managing grievances, addressing employee relations, interpreting contracts, and serving as the EEO Coordinator. Knowledge of state and federal labor laws, rules, and regulations is essential.Minimum Requirements:Demonstrated competence in professional-level human resource management or employee relations. The successful candidate will have proven strong communication, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.Preferences:Experience with the challenges facing HR in public and/or unionized environments is a plus. Preference will be given to applicants who submit a writing sample.Key Responsibilities:* Manage high-volume labor relations activities, grievance resolutions, and contract administration.* Conduct investigations, particularly in ADA matters.* Proficiency in managing shifting priorities in a fast-paced, technical environment.* Discuss human resource management-related problems with supervisors and managers to recommend actions consistent with collective bargaining agreements, Civil Service law and rules, past practice, and current human resources processing systems.* Explains, interprets, and applies collective bargaining contract provisions, compensation, personnel law and rules, budget, workers' compensation, benefits, and safety rules and regulations to employees and supervisors to provide accurate information and advice to agency personnel.* Undertake special projects as needed.Why Join Us?At General Government Service Center, we foster a positive work environment and value individuals who thrive in such settings.
