Terex is looking for a Bilingual Human Resources (HR) Manager to join our team in Watertown, SD. This role partners with HR and Operational Leadership to plan, attract, and retain talent with a strong focus on employee relations, safety, training and talent development. This individual is responsible for leading and directing a team administering HR programs and policies for the company in an efficient and legally sound manner that supports our Terex goals, direction, and core values.

This is a key role within our HR organization that requires a strong team player who is self-motivated and can navigate through ambiguity while developing strong processes. You must be a strong communicator who can act as a catalyst for building organizational effectiveness and efficiency while also being a trusted advisor to managers/leaders. The key to success in the role and within the company is to “live” the culture and core values of the company.

What you will do as HR Manager:

  • Serve as employee resource ensuring alignment with company goals and initiatives while promoting positive employee relations through open communication.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations and ensures necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines.
  • Collaborates with management to develop an Emergency Action Plan and serves as primary contact for project site injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management. Maintains a written log of safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence.
  • Work with Supervisors to ensure all employees well trained on how to work safely.
  • Provide oversight for all HR functions and effectively liaison with HR team members to ensure all HR functions are handled accurately in a timely manner.
  • Organize and develop training programs & employee development initiatives through identification of career aspirations and key training needs.
  • Foster a culture of ongoing learning and development by encouraging employees to actively seek out new knowledge and skills.
  • Provides targeted training for managers to enhance leadership skills, including performance feedback, conflict resolution and team building.
  • Support talent management initiatives including diversity and inclusion, employee training, organizational development, compensation programs and succession planning.
  • Work with the compensation team to ensure accuracy of HRIS and payroll while also maintaining an effective compensation program.
  • Coordinate HR projects, meetings and training seminars; assist in development and implementation of human resource policies.
  • Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits and organizing team building activities

What you will need to be successful as HR Manager:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field with special consideration given to advanced degrees (MBA); equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Bilingual English-Spanish is a mandatory requirement.
  • 5+ years' experience in human resources, preferably within a rapidly changing manufacturing industrial environment.
  • Past experience identifying employee skill gaps to design and implement tailored training programs to ensure employees are acquiring the necessary skills to perform their roles effectively and advance their careers within the organization
  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures with strong knowledge of employment/labor laws.
  • Excellent leadership, project management, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with MS Office and HRIS systems (e.g. Workday, Success Factors).
  • Excellent communication and people skills with a desire to work as a team with a results driven approach.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
