HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

We are looking for an engaging and experienced Human Resources Manager for Luna Park in Coney Island. The candidate will be responsible for the Team Member's Life Cycle, including but not limited to, recruitment and hiring, employee engagement, training and development, performance and talent management, and policy compliance. The ideal candidate would have prior experience in a fast-paced HR environment, that understands hospitality. The HR Manager understands and maintains the highest level of confidentiality and passionate about supporting the growth and development of the Team Members within the company.
This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.

Central Amusement International Inc. (CAI) is an amusement park development and management company located in New York City. In 2003, CAI developed Victorian Gardens at Wollman Rink in Central Park, and in 2010 developed Luna Park in Coney Island, at the site of the birthplace of the amusement industry. CAI is part of the Zamperla Group, which is the worldwide leader in the manufacturing of amusement rides.
POSITION: Human Resources Manager

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead full life cycle recruitment efforts for high volume seasonal positions and assist in hiring permanent Team Members.
- Assist managers and Team Members in understanding and applying HR tools to maximize Team Members' performance and retention, achieve organizational effectiveness, improve Team Members' engagement and ensure legal compliance.
- Respond to HR inquiries, including but not limited to inquiries on policies, procedures, benefits and payroll in compliance with company polices and applicable local, state and federal laws. Assist Team Members with benefits and payroll related questions and concerns.
- Work with Director of Human Resources to monitor the administration of weekly payroll and related functions, and to manage and maintain HRIS database.
- Work with the HR team and managers to develop and maintain accurate job descriptions and organization charts.
- Assist with the implementation and maintaining the Team Member's handbook.
- Assist with management of workers' compensation, disability and FMLA.
- Responsible for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including EEOC and OSHA policies.
- Coordinate with Operations Team to facilitate the J1 Visa program.
- Maintain HR records in HRIS system.
- Partner with Director of Human Resources on designing and improving the training and development of permanent and seasonal Team Members.
- Supports the Director of Human Resources with facilitation of performance, succession planning, and annual and mid-year review process with managers.
- Lead all engagement activities monthly.
- Partner with the Director of Human Resources when needed.
- Perform other duties expected of the Human Resources Manager position and assist in all other operations of the park as assigned and directed by the Director of Human Resources.
SCHEDULE / WORK HOURS:
During the off-season (January - March), the normal work hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday unless attending a conference, expo or other event. During the operating season, the HRM is expected to work as necessary, including weekends and holidays, performing all responsibilities for Luna Park in Coney Island. Operating season hours will be held to 55 hours as much as possible by Company, unless high priority projects must be completed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- Minimum 5 years of experience in Human Resources Management
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources/Business preferred
- SHRM – CP or PHR a plus
- Knowledge and experience with Paylocity a plus.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of legislation and regulations relating to HR issues
- Due to the nature of the amusement park business, must be able to work a flexible schedule which may include weekends.
