MARCH Inc. of Manchester is seeking a skilled Human Resources Manager to join our team. This position offers flexibility with 20-30 hours per week with options for occasional remote work. In this role, you'll oversee essential HR functions, provide strategic guidance, and support a positive work environment.Primary Responsibilities:Culture and Engagement
- Serve as a trusted member of the management team, providing resources to employees, managers, and supervisors to cultivate a supportive culture.
- Establish an employee appreciation initiative to promote retention and foster teamwork.
- Facilitate team-building activities to strengthen collaboration.
Employee Relations
- Partner with managers and supervisors to oversee employee performance, engagement, retention, recognition, and discipline, including managing terminations.
- Work closely with supervisors to implement and track employee performance through the company's performance management plan.
- Act as a liaison with the Union, managing employee grievances and fostering positive communication.
Recruitment, Onboarding, and Training
- Develop and oversee a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program to attract dedicated employees.
- Supervise the Staff Training Coordinator to ensure effective onboarding and ongoing training.
Policies & Procedures
- Design and implement policies that align with company goals, union requirements, and legal standards.
- Stay current with HR regulations by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and networking with industry peers.
Compliance and Reporting
- Maintain HR records and ensure timely submission of required state and federal reports.
- Administer workers' compensation claims and Leave of Absence requests.
- Participate in safety committee meetings to support a safe work environment.
Supervision
- Direct the work of the Human Resources Generalist, providing guidance, development, and support.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Human Resources Information Systems (ADP, Paylocity, etc.)
- Must have a deep knowledge and understanding of human resources principles and practices.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, Labor Relations or related field is preferred.
- Supervisory/Management experience required.
- Experience working with people who are intellectually/developmentally disabled preferred.
