General Summary As the Human Resources Officer, you will research, develop, recommend, implement, and administer employee benefits in all company operations. You will organize and conduct company training programs for personnel. You will perform Human Resource related duties and responsibilities at a professional level in some or all of the following areas: payroll, employee reviews, employee relations, training, employment, labor relations, compliance reporting, surveys, and employment equity programs. Complete any special projects relating to Human Resources, Benefits and Training.Reports To: SVP Chief Human Resources OfficerEssential Duties and Responsibilities • Coach managers as they prepare performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and other employee relations.• Collaborate to achieve HR-related strategic plan objectives.• Assist with Payroll Processing.• Respond to employee inquiries and concerns.• Coordinate with TPA to administer benefit programs. Aid with open enrollment, benefit education and inquiries, processing enrollment changes and EDI feeds. Audit and reconcile benefit billings and record health values to payroll records.• Ensure COBRA compliance.• Coordinate training and development program (extensive involvement in ChoiceU) in accordance with department head direction.• Research, plan, organize and conduct training programs, seminars, and conferences for Bank personnel.• Oversee maintenance of employee personnel files.• Oversee maintenance of applicant flow process, including maintenance of files, reports, and logs for affirmative and EEO compliance and submitting annual reports for compliance and approval.• Administer compensation program; help to monitor performance appraisal process.• Assist with new hire onboarding process.• Assist CHRO with various human resource programs, projects, special reports and procedures for all employees.• Perform specialized or confidential duties, including research data and preparing reports related to officers' assignments.• Safeguard sensitive/confidential employee, customer, and bank information.• Additional responsibilities as assigned.• Be familiar with and comply with the provisions of the Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act as they relate to the functions of this position. Complete all required reports related to those acts and reports any observed violations or potential violations of those acts to a supervisor or other appropriate bank officer.• Be familiar with and comply with all federal and state banking regulations as applicable.Supervisory Responsibilities May have direct or indirect reporting responsibility for staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; handing complaints and resolving problems.RequirementsQualifications To perform this job successfully, an Individual in this position must be able to perform each of the above essential duties satisfactorily and exhibit the values of the Company.   • Minimum 5 years in a Human Resources Role
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or business-related major, preferred
  • Payroll processing experience
  • Highest level of confidentiality
  • High degree of poise and tact
