General Description
Human Resources Payroll Director works closely with the Executive Director and department managers to recruit and retain talent. Promotes consistent application of and compliance with Facility policies and procedures in addition to State Agency and Federal Health Care Administration regulations; and manages the day-to-day human resource functions.
Essential Duties HR / Payroll
Responsible for employee development and retention:
* Works with managers and supervisors to determine training needs and verify proper orientation and training programs are in place.
* Supports recruitment and retention initiatives.
* Assists department managers in conducting new hire surveys, exit interviews and routine employee satisfactions surveys.
* Conducts human resources (HR) related training.
* Tracks and coordinates employee performance evaluation process.
* Serves as an employee advocate
* Administers HR policies and procedures regarding recruitment and selection of candidates.
* Pre-screens and interviews candidates as needed.
* Tracks and maintains applicant flow and internal posting/application process.
* Processes pre-employment paperwork (background checks, reference checks, drug tests, etc.)
* Facilitates and/or participates in New Hire Orientation Program for employees, volunteers, and agency staff.
* Maintains employee personnel files and records to verify compliance with Facility policies, Federal and State laws and regulations.
* Prepares paperwork and processes new hires, status changes, and termination for timely and accurate record-keeping.
* Coordinates employee benefit enrollment.
* Actively participates on Safety Committee; may coordinate and track employee work-related injuries/accidents and completes weekly reporting as directed.
* Actively participates in resident rounds assignments, weekend manager program, and department head meetings as directed.
* Coordinates employee recognition and reward programs.
* Advises managers and supervisors on corrective counseling procedures per Facility policy; prepares and tracks corrective counseling documentation; and participates in employee disciplinary meetings and employee terminations.
* Processes payroll or serves as back-up.
Other Duties
Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances. Performs other work duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Training: Associates Degree or B.S. Degree in Human Resources or related field (or relevant professional experience to the position) preferred.
Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; decision-making skill; excellent computer skills; able to operate various office equipment; auditory and visual skills. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.
Experience: A minimum of one year experience in human resources related function preferred; experience with recruiting, staffing, recognition, workers' compensation and policy interpretation preferred. Strong organizational, follow-through, and computer skills preferred.
