As part of our growth, we are seeking an HR Specialist to join our dynamic team and support the human resource needs of our school community.Position Summary:The HR Specialist will be responsible for managing day-to-day human resource functions, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and fostering a positive workplace culture. This role is pivotal in ensuring Atlas Elementary remains an employer of choice and meets all legal and organizational HR standards.Key Responsibilities:Recruitment and Onboarding:* Coordinate the recruitment process, including job postings, applicant screening, interviewing, and reference checks.* Manage the onboarding process to ensure new hires have a positive start, including documentation, orientation, and introduction to school policies.Employee Relations:* Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and grievances, escalating issues as needed.* Promote a positive school culture through proactive engagement and conflict resolution strategies.Compliance + Policy:* Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.* Implement and update school policies to reflect changes in employment law.* Prepare HR-related documents, such as employment verification letters, disciplinary letters, and employee communications.* Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures. Maintain the employee handbook, making revisions as necessary and communicating changes to employees.Benefits Administration:* Assist employees with enrollment and questions related to our benefits programs.* Partner with payroll and benefits providers to ensure accurate processing.Performance and Professional Development:* Support the administration of performance reviews and staff evaluations.* Coordinate professional development opportunities aligned with organizational goals.Other Duties as Assigned:* Contribute to HR-related projects and initiatives to enhance the employee experience at Atlas Elementary.* Conduct research and coordinate special projects as assigned.Qualifications:Required:* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.* 3+ years of experience in an HR role, preferably in education or a nonprofit setting.* Knowledge of HR practices and employment laws.* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.* Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.Preferred:* SHRM-CP or PHR certification.* Experience in a charter school or educational environment.* Familiarity with Missouri labor laws.Compensation:* Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.* Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, retirement plan, and professional development opportunities.* 12 days PTO* 4 designated work-from-home weeks* 4.5 designated weeks off for Thanksgiving week, Winter break, Spring break, and Fourth of July WeekYou are navigating off of REAP site to the district's posting.OK
