ABOUT THE ROLEThe HR Specialist will report to the VP of HR and will be primarily responsible for administrative support of day-to-day human resources operations and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following areas: employee engagement, onboarding, payroll, benefits and recruitment. The perfect candidate will have strong attention to detail and be system and process-oriented. This role helps implement integrated HR initiatives and solutions to advance organizational objectives. This position is a critical role required for the smooth operation of the Human Resources department. Its primary function is to support the Human Resources team by ensuring accurate data is maintained and updated regularly in the systems, coordinate with team members to ensure a positive onboarding experience for new hires, and support employee engagement initiatives. This role will frequently interact with all team members. Key Responsibilities HR Operations: Administers and processes operational work to include the following:
  • Processing appropriate new hire documents, such as onboarding documents, background checks, I-9s, employee discount activation, and adding new hires to ADP.
  • Processing change of status for employees in ADP.
  • Provides information on benefits and policies during new hire orientations for both Manufacturing and Corporate new hires.
  • Helps facilitate and track EEO-1 reporting.
  • Works closely with the health and safety leader to help facilitate coordination of workers' comp claims and benefits.
HR Customer Service: Responds to employee inquiries and works with HRBPs to ensure that resolutions are met with employees.
  • Responds to all employee inquiries (new hire details, benefits, discounts, general FAQs, etc)
  • Manage the Filson HR inbox
Provides general administration for the HR Department
  • Creates new hire files for Corporate, Manufacturing, and Retail, adds onboarding documents
  • Microsoft Power App tickets (COS, New Hire, Termination)
  • Processes terminations and COSes in ADP
  • Maintains employee files
  • Order business cards for Corp/retail employees
Corp Communication and Employee Recognition
  • In partnership with HR leadership, puts together the framework of the Corp newsletter and HR Comms
  • In partnership with HR leadership, send communications via personal or Filson HR email for corporate announcements.
Misc duties:
  • Support scheduling and ordering of occasional board meeting
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience is required
  • Prior relevant experience in customer service center and HR operations
  • Prior experience working in an HRIS system preferred
  • Prior experience working in HR or a highly confidential work environment required
  • Ability to build strong collaborative relationships, influence multiple partners and establish common goals and objectives without sacrificing outcomes
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills required
  • Is flexible, collaborative, and deadline-driven
  • Strong organization skills with attention to detail, a laser-focused approach on delivery of results is required
  • Proven ability to manage multiple inquiries/requests simultaneously and strong prioritization skills required
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Products preferred
