In addition, the Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources serves as the University EEO/Affirmative Action Officer, with full responsibility for programs of equal employment opportunity through affirmative action.Description of Work Continued: Primary Purpose of the Position: This position's primary purpose will be to support the Classification/ Compensation Unit program. The position will perform general HR administrative duties, maintain department records and files, and assist faculty and staff regarding Classification/Compensation services. This position supports the Classification and Compensation Consultant with processes and projects, including routine and technical assistance to managers and supervisors regarding required documentation for requested Classification/Compensation actions and compilation and review of documents for action/approval by the Classification and Compensation Consultant. The specialist will apply Federal, State, and University guidelines when supporting managers.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Graduation from a four year college or university; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.Knowledge skills and abilities: Knowledge Program - Demonstrated understanding of HR policies and procedures related to the functional area of Classification and Compensation. Ability to demonstrate and apply this knowledge in reviewing and processing classification, compensation actions, and communications with managers. Information/Records Administration-Ability to compile, assimilate, and organize printed and electronic information. Ability to apply data collection, review, and electronic and manual storage knowledge. Ability to follow best practices and maintain records by established procedures. Office Technology - Ability to utilize office equipment and other relevant technology (software and systems) to meet organizational needs. Problem Solving - Ability to identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; use practical approaches to choose a course of action or develop appropriate solutions. Communication-Verbal - Ability to convey information and ideas to individuals or groups through various media. Communication-Written - Ability to present ideas clearly and effectively in written form; ability to adjust language or terminology to meet the audience's needs; ability to use correct grammar, organization, and structure.Preferred Qualifications: HRIS/Applicant Tracking system experience. Previous classification and compensation experience. Knowledge of FLSA guidelines.
