The incumbent will utilize analytical, planning, project management, and managerial skills to address a variety of issues which affect the delivery of and access to services. The work will require an in-depth knowledge of public health and human services as well as the delivery of these services at the local level through coordination of federal, state, and local funding. The incumbent will utilize interpersonal skills to bring interested parties together to address system deficiencies and to reach consensus on possible solutions to be implemented. The ability to clearly communicate the results of the work effort and the various policies which follow are essential to the success of the position.The duties and responsibilities include:* Provides consultation on local human services including mental health, child wellness, aging, criminal justice, and homelessness services. Assists Human Services System Coordinators with planning, monitoring, and evaluating programs. Determines products or services for Sarasota County residents based on data analysis to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables; develops and implements project plans; coordinates and integrates project activities, manages, leads, or administers project resources; monitors project activities and resources to mitigate risk; implements or maintains quality assurance processes; makes improvements, solves problems, or takes corrective action when needed; gives presentations or briefings on all aspects of the project; participates in phase, milestones, and final project reviews; and maintains project documentation.* Analyze intersecting components of the public health and human services delivery systems within Sarasota County, identify gaps in services, provide recommendations for improvement, and assess the impact of changes implemented. Serve as an advisor and provide management and data-driven direction for the integrated (state and county) Sarasota County Human Services System Coordination Division. Works directly with the Department of Health (DOH) Sarasota Quality Control Administrator on performance management and quality improvement activities where public health and human services intersect.* Promote the goals and strategies of the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP), Falls Prevention, the Age-Friendly Sarasota Action Plan, and the Quality-of-Life Coalition Work Plan. Participate as a member of the DOH Quality of Life Team.* Research and assess funding strategies for public health and human services at the state/local level. Provide recommendations in the development of department-wide budgets and provide administration for approved budgets.* Represent the department in various forums to improve the coordination and delivery of services. This may include representation on established boards, coalitions, and committees as well as participation on ad hoc committees, task forces, and work groups.
