ROLE DEFINITION
DuPont is currently seeking a HVAC Apprentice to join our FS & RE department at the Experimental Station, Wilmington DE site.
RESPONSIBILITIES DESCRIPTION
The HVAC apprentice has primary responsibility of working with an HVAC mechanic, for the proper operation of complex building heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment.
Your key responsibilities will be/what you'll do:
* Maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, inspecting, complex HVAC systems, including steam and chilled water to control the building heating and cooling systems while under the direct supervision of a mentor.
* Responsible for conducting perform periodic visual checks and performing routine preventive and predictive maintenance on the building HVAC equipment while under the direct supervision of a mentor.
* Perform assigned tasks using hand tools and power tools while under the direct supervision of a mentor.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Application Requirements:
* Must be at least 18 years old or possess a valid Delaware Department of Labor Child Labor Work Permit for Minor.
* Must be able to work 20-40 hours per week.
* Must submit a copy of high school transcripts that reflect the HVAC education courses that have been completed.
Requirements:
* High School diploma or GED equivalent
* Basic mechanical knowledge.
* Desire to establish a mechanical based technical skill.
* Willingness to work with and learn from members of a team.
* Excellent reliability and attendance.
* Adhere to Dupont's Core Values: Safety & health, Respect for people, Highest ethical behavior and Protect the planet.
* Must be able to frequently stand, climb, lift (up to 35 pounds), pull, /or push, carry, grasp, reach, stoop and crouch.
* Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work processes.
* Work at heights with the understanding of our life safety rules.
* Use logical step-by-step SOP (standard operating procedures) to perform work tasks.
