Job Description:
Our client has an exciting opportunity for a HVAC Engineering Specialist to provide technical support and consulting for the application of our Electronic Air Cleaning (EAC) devices installed in HVAC equipment. The position will be located in Charlotte, NC, with on-site training in Savannah, GA.Duties and responsibilities:The specialist will provide great customer service to our clients. This includes responding to phone calls and emails from our customers, contractors, manufacturer reps and our sales team, to help troubleshoot or answer technical questions. The role will require periodic overnight travel (10-15%) to customer sites to support the installation, inspection, or troubleshooting of GPS products. While in the office, the person will provide Quality Control testing, technical support for R&D and general troubleshooting and testing. The person may have to periodically write technical reports, including summary of field visits, testing procedures, or basic operational instructions.Knowledge and skills:- Knowledge of the proper use of specialized equipment used in the electrical and HVAC trades.- Knowledge of HVAC equipment such as air handlers, coils, duct systems, air conditioning and heating.- Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with staff, customers and others.- Basic computer literacy: Microsoft suite (Outlook, Work, Excel), Web-based software.- Demonstrated organizational, problem solving and common-sense skills.- Knowledge OSHA occupational safety regulations.Education and experience:- 2-4 years of related work experience in the HVAC service field.- Military training and experience on HVAC equipment accepted.- AA Degree in HVAC/R preferred, but not required.Requirements:- Have or must be able to attain a U.S. Passport.- Must be able to pass pre-employment background investigations and drug screen.- Ability to travel to GPS or customer facilities; estimated 10-15% travel.- Valid Driver's License and proof of current automobile insurance.- Start ASAP.Special requirement:The current facility is located in Savannah, GA. The plan is to move to Charlotte, NC by June 1. The candidate must be able to live in Savannah for 3 months prior to moving to Charlotte. The company will pay the costs of temporary lodging in Savannah prior to moving to Charlotte. The candidate will receive training for 1 month with the current out-going technician who is retiring at the end of March.
