What you will do:
Possesses complete technical competence on security & fire systems and the ability to resolve or guide others through very complex problem resolution.
Responsible for programming, commissioning, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of security & fire systems per contract obligations.
Provides detailed information to communicate design to customers, installation or service team and subcontractors.
Ability to provide mentorship and training to a team of technicians with solutions to systems problems, troubleshooting techniques, and advising others on how to resolve problems.
Requires thorough understanding of core and third party security & fire products, software and systems / electrical technology.
How you will do it:
Adheres to safety standards and local and national codes, with a high degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
Oversees the day to day technical and service requirements of PSA and L&M Customer base.
Provides coaching, mentoring and technical assistance to System Technicians, Electrical Installers and System Designers. Provides technical assistance to subcontractors. Ensures that delegated tasks are done accurately, on-time, billed, executed within budget and within scope of the contract.
Creates and presents field proposals for small projects and labor and material.
Maintains and services customers based on customer specific requirements.
Orders material from both internal sources and / or external vendors, and expedites as necessary.
Maintains appropriate local and National Fire and/or Security Industry Certifications.
Communicates with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
Continuous proactive customer interactions including an in-depth understanding of customer(s) needs wants and systems currently in place.
Plans for future needs with customer that include recommending complete systems enhancements and promoting the sale of add-on work.
Mentor Fire and/or Security Technicians on tools and technology. Serves as a Fire and/or Security Team technical resource.
Assist sales in development of cost estimate on complex projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What we look for:
Required:
Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
Electronics Certification from an accredited Technical School with 5 years' experience required in the fire and/or security industry. Or commensurate experience in the Security and/or Fire Industry.
NICET Level III required. NICET Level IV certification a plus.
Experience within the fire and/or security industry with complete knowledge and understanding of fire and/or security systems, database structures, network configuration and analysis.
Strong technical background in Access control.
Simplex FACP Certification and CCURE 9000 Certification is preferred.
Able to act independently and to coordinate the work of others on a job site.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts.
Able to explain technical information to non-technical people.
Ability to read and understand complex building architectural, mechanical and electrical documents, as well as project plans, specifications, schedules and equipment installation/operation/troubleshooting manual.
Develops project plans and coordinates the required resources to ensure timely and cost effective installation and completion of assigned projects.
