- Troubleshoots, repairs, installs and maintains a variety of heating and air conditioning equipment.
- Removes pumps and performs maintenance work, may frequently lift/carry up to 30 pounds to operate HVAC maintenance equipment.
- Adjusts and calibrates temperature control devices.
- Assists more senior technicians in chiller and boiler inspections; performs preventive maintenance.
- Performs preventive maintenance inspections and repairs.
- Gives technical advice and guidance as needed.
- Installs new equipment according to provided instructions.
- Performs water treatment analysis.
- Adjusts and maintains chemical feed systems.
- Initiates requisitions for parts and supplies.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).
- One (1) year work experience maintaining and repairing heating and air conditioning equipment.
- Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License.
- Must certify with the State of Texas as Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician within Six (6) months of employment.
- Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A & B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and Family Violence Convictions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience performing maintenance and repair services on large-scale (200+ Tons) HVAC equipment and systems.
- Class B HVAC License issued by TDLR.
- EPA Refrigeration Certification (Type Universal).
- Experience with DDC controls and Building Automation Systems.
- Experience with DX and package systems 20 Ton or larger.
- Experience with Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) controllers.
