Job Title:Hydraulic Maintenance Technician (A)
Reporting To:Supervisor, Hydraulic Maintenance
Work Schedule:Onsite - Buffalo, NYWe are looking for an experienced Hydraulic Repair Technician. In this role, we would like you to be knowledgeable in all aspects of fluid power. This includes high pressure pumping systems, pneumatics, hydraulic test stand troubleshooting and repair, cryogenic liquids and gases, and process piping. This position is in East Aurora, NY and has a full-time on-site presence. For this opening you will train on 1st shift, however, the position will be specific to 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift. A typical candidate will have experience as a pipefitter, fluid, or process technician.To be considered for this role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
- High School diploma or GED preferred. Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Technical Associates Degree or 2-3 years related skilled-trades training highly desired
- Typical candidate will have 3-5 years in the Fluid Power field, experience as a pipefitter, fluid or process technician, or equivalent.
- Strong communications skills to communicate with end users and management on technical details of issues with production equipment.
As a Hydraulic Maintenance Technician A, you will:
- Effectively and safely troubleshoot and repair fluid systems in a team or single worker environment, this includes working on equipment in often awkward ergonomic positions.
- Perform required operations to install and maintain diversified hydraulic test equipment, systems, power supplies, vibration and flow apparatus used throughout the company.
- Install, maintain, and operate any equipment in the hydraulic, water, air or gas systems. Verify completed equipment/systems functionality to ensure safe and proper operations.
- Be observant for unusual conditions and notify supervisor or appropriate technician Suggest best location and determine method of connection for instruments, valves, controls, brackets and supports. Measure, cut, form, and flare tubing; cut and thread piping - making joints and connections via soldering, brazing, and welding as required.
- Maintain oil levels in various hydraulic systems, drain, clean, and change filters as required reporting unusual contamination levels.
- Support Moog East Aurora production requirements: work to maintain and repair machinery in an effective and timely manner.
- Utilize CMMS system to effectively document work logs, inventory usage, and hours worked.
- Maintain personal PC related skills as new software is released and implemented.
- Must follow all applicable safety standards, including but not limited to Lock-Out Tag-Out, NFPA 70E, and Hazardous Material Handling.
