Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Hydrogeologist, to join our world-class firm in Columbus, OH.

This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and independent professional to join our team locally with support from one of the best qualified consulting firms in the country. In this position you will utilize your professional experience and technical knowledge of hydrology, geology, well drilling, groundwater modeling, well pump tests, water quality sampling, and other related skills.

Role accountabilities:

As a Hydrogeologist you will be responsible for assisting our senior hydrogeologists and project managers in conducting groundwater assessments, monitoring, and water supply and development projects. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide technical support and contribute to the development of hydrogeological studies and reports. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals seeking to establish a career in hydrogeology.

Responsibilities include:

* Collect and analyze hydrogeological data such as water level measurements, water quality samples, and geologic data

* Assist in conducting field investigations, including drilling and installation of monitoring wells

* Perform aquifer tests, pumping tests, and slug tests to determine hydraulic properties

* Assist in the development of groundwater flow and contaminant transport models

* Support project managers in preparing hydrogeological reports, including data interpretation, analysis, and presentation of findings

* Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed within budget and on schedule

* Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to hydrogeology and water resource management

* Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain high standards of environmental compliance

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications

* BS in Hydrogeology, with MS in Hydrogeology strongly preferred. BS or MS in Geology or Environmental Science also considered.

* A valid drivers license and willingness to travel occasionally for fieldwork.

Preferred Qualifications:

* 0-5 years experience considered.

* Strong understanding of hydrogeological principles and concepts.

* Proficient in using numerical groundwater modeling tools (e.g., MODFLOW, Groundwater Vistas, and GMS).

* Background or coursework in GIS (e.g., ArcMAP, ArcGIS Pro).

* Familiarity with groundwater sampling techniques and data interpretation.

* Excellent analytical skills and quantitative problem solving skills.

* Strong mathematical background.

* Strong report writing skills.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $52,000 - $78,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
