Hydrologist IV (Hydrogeologist)

Job Summary: This is advanced independent professional hydrologic and/or hydrogeologic work in the District's groundwater program.
Job duties include:
* Serve as District technical lead for assessing groundwater quality; evaluate spatial and temporal trends; evaluate, analyze, and interpret hydrologic and water quality data using statistical and mapping methods; prepare documentation of analyses and results.
* Manage District groundwater monitoring network for long-term data collection of groundwater levels and quality from monitoring wells; evaluate and refine network to optimize spatial and temporal data collection to meet water management needs; coordinate and assist in planning network maintenance and new well construction.
* Provide technical guidance to staff collecting groundwater quality samples regarding scheduling and standard operating procedures.
* Provide technical guidance and data summaries to staff preparing annual water quality reports.
* Maintains high level of expertise ; attends scientific and managerial conferences, symposia, workshops, and training courses in order to maintain and improve scientific knowledge and skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in geology, hydrology, hydrogeology or related field and five years of experience in hydrology or hydrogeology; or registration with the State of Florida as a professional geologist or professional engineer.
Professional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
Mostly office environment sitting at a desk and operating a personal computer to produce work products with some field visits as required.
Periodic field visits:
Applicant must have ability to endure outdoor environments in uncomfortable temperatures, inclement weather, and remote locations.
Licenses:
Requires a valid Florida driver license.
Travel:
Requires travel to attend off-site meetings, sometimes outside of normal business hours including overnight. Ability to drive oneself to and from meetings.
Additional Details:
Starting Salary Range: $66,164.80 - $86,008.00
Starting salary is based on qualifications and experience.
