Job Description:
Whitman Family Dental is a growing small dental practice in the heart of the Palouse. We started with one dentist, one hygienist, and one assistant when Dr. Mellor took over as owner in 2019. We have grown and moved into a brand new building with new equipment. We currently employ two dentists, two hygienists, and three assistants. Dr. Mellor is a great dentist to work for and will do his best to help you grow in your career as you help us care for those in our community. We are a professional group who work well together and always do what is best to care for each individual patient. Our office hours are currently Mon-Thursda 7:00-4:00. Duties: - Perform dental hygiene procedures, including dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing - Take and develop dental x-rays - Conduct oral cancer screenings - Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for dental care - Maintain a sterile working environment - Document patient treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant information in electronic dental records systems (Open Dental) - Follow all HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality - Adhere to strict infection control protocols to maintain a safe and hygienic environment Experience: - Proficient in medical terminology related to dentistry - Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control procedures - Familiarity with medical imaging techniques used in dentistry - Ability to assess patients' oral health conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans - Experience using electronic dental records systems - Understanding of anatomy related to the oral cavity and surrounding structures Skills: - Proficient in medical terminology related to dentistry - Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control procedures - Familiarity with medical imaging techniques used in dentistry - Ability to assess patients' oral health conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans - Experience using electronic dental records systems (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) - Understanding of anatomy related to the oral cavity and surrounding structures Note: Additional skills may be required based on specific job requirements.
