Become a maker of possible with us.The Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS) business unit and the Medication Delivery and Vascular Care (MDVC) platform plays a key role in providing medical devices critical to the delivery of healthcare. The team is comprised of individuals passionate about our role and our legacy as a company and excited about our continued contribution to healthcare.OVERVIEWThis role, reporting to the Business Director of the Medication Delivery business, is responsible for leading the BD syringe portfolio, a $500M+ legacy business crucial to global healthcare. The primary focus is on managing the BD Plastipak syringe, a significant brand established in 1961 as the world's first disposable syringe, now producing nearly 4 billion units annually across seven facilities worldwide. This role involves driving growth initiatives and supporting product management to maintain the impact of BD Plastipak in healthcare, from smallpox eradication to COVID-19 vaccine administration We now supply nearly 4 billion syringes a year produced in 7 facilities across the globe.Additionally, the role includes managing other BD brands such as BD Emerald, BD Discardit, and combination needle products. The successful candidate will collaborate with regional team members and cross-functional stake holders from R&D, operations, supply chain, and medical functions. Working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, the candidate must be resourceful and adept at leading multiple priorities effectively across various functions.RESPONSIBILITIES* Set the short-term and long-term global marketing strategy for the BD syringe portfolio and solidify our brand's positioning within the larger BD portfolio.* Active participation as a core team member representing the marketing/commercial function on existing projects, developing targeted commercial campaigns, driving price optimization, and forecasting global demand.* Work with cross functional teams to ensure supply continuity to customers, working with regions to support forecasting, mitigating risks, and finding opportunities for business growth.* Strong collaboration with cross-functional team members within the platform, BD's Medication Management Solutions (MMS) business unit, and third-party pump manufacturers to ensure BD syringes are well positioned for use in syringe pumps.* Prioritize and evaluate potential tactics to drive the importance of using validated syringes on pumps, based on market research insights.* Drive differentiation through claims development, training, and supporting regional development of sales collateral that can deliver portfolio growth.* Explore innovation opportunities for future growth within the Medication Administration and Medication Preparation clinical workstreams.* Drive growth in existing and new business, working closely with the country/region marketing teams.* Work with cross functional teams to ensure timely execution and meeting of key deliverables. Work includes providing insights and oversight to voice of customer, developing pricing strategies and leading commercial launch excellence.* Lead product life cycle management activities such as market assessment, segmentation, competitive analysis, portfolio management, product positioning and marketing collateral/communications.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience* Bachelor's Degree required.* MBA strongly preferred.* Minimum of 5-7 years experience with proven commercial capabilities and business insight in the medical device or healthcare industry. Business experience may include marketing, sales, sales training and business development.* Experience in driving portfolio growth, identifying market opportunities, market segmentation, completing competitive analysis, developing pricing strategies, preparing for product launch and commercialization, and developing go to market models and strategies.* Experience with innovation process and driving innovation projects/initiatives.* Experience in developing comprehensive cases with detailed financial analysis.* Previous experience working with international team members and diverse cultures a plus.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities* Demonstrated critical thinking capability including strong customer focus, needs identification, and value proposition development.* Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable marketing and business strategies and plans.* Ability to use sound, independent reasoning and judgment to establish work priorities and identify ways to optimize project timelines and to mitigate project risks/delays.* Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment of contending priorities.* Shown ability to work in a high-paced environment and routinely work on multiple tasks with multiple people while effectively prioritizing.* Highly effective interpersonal skills and strong emotional intelligence and experience working in a matrixed organization and influencing without authority.* Excellent communication and presentation skills.* Highly meticulous with the ability to analyze and prioritize data into meaningful presentations.* 10% - 20% travelAt BD, we prioritize on-site collaboration because we believe it fosters creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving, which are essential in the fast-paced healthcare industry.
