Summer interns provide assistance to the land department while gaining valuable experience and insight regarding the inner workings of a land department and the land department's role within the upstream oil and gas organization.
Essential Job Responsibilities:- Assist the landmen, land techs and the field brokers with day to day tasks including:
- Assist in-house landmen with mailing out Authorization for Expenditures AFE to working interest partners
- Assist in-house landmen with ownership research
- Assist field landmen with title research at the county courthouse
- Assist field landmen with negotiating surface access and road/pipeline right-of-ways.
- Work royalty owner hot line desk
- Assist GIS Tech with mapping projects
- Adheres to the company's values - integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment and innovation.
- Supports company vision and mission.
- Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.
Other Job Responsibilities:- Other duties as assigned by management.
- The summer intern will spend at least two to three weeks in the field working with our lead broker in one of Hilcorp's various leasing or pipeline right-of-way projects. Locations include South Texas, Pennsylvania or Ohio.
Qualifications:- Previous experience with an oil and gas company land department or experience with an independent landman is preferred but not required.
Education Requirements:- Progressively working towards a Bachelor of Business Administration in Energy Management, Energy Commerce, Petroleum Land Management, or equivalent degree from an A.A.P.L. accredited program.
- Progressively working towards a Juris Doctorate, preferred.
