Purpose/Introduction

We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to join our Maintenance Team as a I&E Craftsman for the Philtex plant located in Borger, TX. This position performs daily I&E Maintenance activities for Specialty Chemical Commercial Products (CPU) and Multipurpose (MPU) Units and Shipping and Blending Equipment.

Responsibilities

* Provides technician level installation, maintenance, and service of electrical and instrument-related process equipment

* Troubleshoots, dismantles, repairs and reassembles equipment following safety and job task work directions

* Utilizes diagnostic and power tools according to the manuals, standards, schematics, and wiring diagrams

* Maintains process instruments (control valves, electronic and pneumatic instruments, and various technology applications of flow and level instrumentation)

* Performs repairs on electric motors and starters, electrical distribution equipment, complex shutdown systems, UPS systems, variable speed drive controllers, electrical motor-operated valves, and other associated equipment

* Maintains electrical equipment to meet or exceed mechanical integrity standards

* Complies with all site health, safety, and environmental policies

* Performs required environmental compliance testing/documentation

* Performs corrective and preventative maintenance activities on instrumentation in operating units

* Works with plant operations evaluating work requests for routine and emergency instruments/electrical work

* Installs electrical equipment (conduit, wires, support, and related equipment)

Required Qualifications

* High School Diploma/GED, plus a technical certification in electrical AND instrumentation

* Electrical and instrumentation experience in a manufacturing environment

* Understanding of I&E systems troubleshooting and process safety management

* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions in challenging technical situations

* Ability to diagnose/locate circuit, component, and equipment faults

* Ability to read schematic drawings or product manuals to repair parts

* Ability to interact with other departments to coordinate equipment repairs

* Accommodate overtime hours and support call-out rotation

* Physical requirements associated with the position include climbing, bending, lifting, knelling, pushing, pulling and performing a wide range of physical activities while working at various heights.

* This position includes shift work and overtime, when required.

Preferred Qualifications

* Associate degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or related field

* A minimum 3 years of journeyman level Electrician or Instrument Technician experience in a manufacturing environment

* Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, electrical logic and loop diagrams, motor control center breakers, starters, and switchgear with basic understanding of the NFPA70 and 70E

* Factory training and repair of control valves, electronic governors, DCS configuration, Diagnostic equipment, and/or PLCs
