Job Description:
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Verify proper installation of automation equipment.
  • Order equipment and maintain material supplies.
  • Responsible for tracking and managing project costs.
  • Oversee multiple projects and coordinate scheduling of work with Field Foremen prior to equipment installation. May test new methods of optimizing production.
  • Responsible for teaching, implementing, and setting the example for safe work practices and Company safety policies.
  • Responsible for tracking and managing project costs and the regular reporting of project status to affected parties.
  • Assist Automation Technicians with duties and work projects.
  • Ensure that the Automation Technicians are taught proper automation techniques and work within the safety requirements.
  • Provide feedback to management on training and development needs of field employees.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance by coordinating closely with the Production Foreman, Superintendent, Production Director, and EH&S department.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree in a technical field may be counted towards some of the experience required.
  • Minimum of 7 years or more oilfield experience including 5 years or more of supervisory experience as a Foreman or equivalent.
  • Must meet and maintain eligibility requirements to drive a company vehicle.
  • Detailed knowledge of automation equipment and processes required.
  • Effective management skills and ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees in the organization.
  • Aptitude to learn and advance in specialized discipline.
  • Must have general knowledge of safe oil and gas production operations.
  • Must have working knowledge of engineering principles and a comprehensive understanding of electrical systems.
  • Possess proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to perform simple math calculations, have a mechanical aptitude and possess good writing skills.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be self-motivated, possess a strong work ethic, can work with minimal supervision, and demonstrate cooperative behavior in the workplace.
  • Must possess a desire to automate repetitive tasks and utilize data from multiple sources to achieve differential results.

COMPENSATION: Salary is commensurate with experience.WORKING CONDITIONS:Work is normally performed outdoors where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes and gases is common. Noise level is moderate to loud and includes sounds of construction, equipment operations, trucks and like equipment. Job hazards include working in normal light and heavy construction activities and working around pressured propane, water, electricity, and waste lines under all weather conditions. May work in areas where H2S is present. Must be available for on-call hours. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboard at moderate skill level. Work may require frequent pushing, pulling, or carrying 50 to 75 pound objects such as tools, equipment work operations.
