Our client is currently seeking an Instrumentation Technician to join our team in Chesterton, IN. As the Instrumentation Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our production facility. You will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing preventive and corrective maintenance solutions for instrumentation systems across multiple processes, making independent technical decisions in the field.Key responsibilities:In this position, you will maintain and troubleshoot a variety of industrial instruments, including transmitters, PLC systems, and automatic valves, as well as electrical systems under 600V, such as motors and UPS systems. You'll develop and coordinate maintenance schedules, assist in root cause analysis for major failures, and ensure compliance with safety and operational protocols. Your expertise will be invaluable as you lead the implementation of new technologies, train new team members, and support validation activities for instrumentation systems.Qualifications:Ideal candidates will hold an associate's degree or a degree in Engineering Technology related to Instrumentation/Electronics, along with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. Proven skills in installation, troubleshooting, and calibration of industrial instrumentation systems are essential. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, as well as the capacity to work independently, are key to thriving in this role. Familiarity with asset management systems and process control methodologies will be beneficial, and candidates should be prepared for occasional travel.Work environment:This position requires a combination of office and fieldwork, with responsibilities involving various weather conditions and access to elevated equipment via ladders and man-lifts. The job may involve overtime, including weekends and holidays, and you will support a satellite plant in Columbia City, IN, with approximately 20% travel required.
