OUR IMPACT
PSI sits within the Americas Financing Group in the Investment Banking Division. PSI provides debt underwriting and advisory services for public power and utility systems, state and local governmental entities, transportation and mass transit agencies, sports franchises, higher education organizations, not-for-profit hospital and healthcare organizations, and other public projects. The group focuses on origination, structuring and execution of a variety of debt, advisory, and public-private partnership transactions across the U.S. The multi-functional group combines client coverage with product expertise, capital markets expertise, credit analysis and deal execution. Our offices are headquartered in New York City, with regional offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, Houston, and Atlanta.
HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIALAnalysts and Associates in PSI gain exposure to the firms businesses and expanded knowledge of the investment banking industry, as they develop key analytical, communications, marketing and sales skills. On the financing side, analysts and associates provide a full range of services including running bond structuring analysis, assisting in developing and preparing credit information for formal bond rating agency presentations, responding to requests for financing ideas, assessing credit enhancement structures, reviewing legal and other offering documents and examining product alternatives as pricing approaches. On the advisory side, analysts and associates create and analyze financial models, performing scenario analyses and tests to examine the effects of client alternatives. Analysts and associates organize and prepare presentations which explain industry trends, discuss client options, and recommend strategies to meet client goals. They may also participate in due diligence sessions, a necessary component of financial transactions.
Within PSI Energy, there is a heavy focus on serving not-for-profit utilities (public power and cooperatives), project finance clients (particularly in the renewable natural gas and waste energy space), and other municipal and not-for-profit clients in pursuing energy transactions (transmission entities, universities, renewable providers).
From maintaining client communication to helping Goldman Sachs structure client transactions, our analysts and associates are a vital part of Goldman Sachs banking teams.
