Job Description:
Role- IBM Datacap Support Engineer Location: Malvern or Charlotte (Onsite) Duration:6-12 months Client: Infosys/VanguardMust Have Skills: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled IBM Datacap Product Support Engineer to join our technical support team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with IBM Datacap and a strong background in providing technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for document processing solutions. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, a customer-centric approach, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities: Technical Support:
  • Provide technical support for IBM Datacap solutions, including installation, configuration, and deployment.
  • Respond to and resolve customer issues and inquiries in a timely manner through various support channels (phone, email, ticketing system).
Troubleshooting:
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems related to Datacap, including software bugs, configuration issues, and performance problems.
  • Analyze logs and error messages to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Maintenance and Upgrades:
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks, including software updates, patches, and backups.
  • Assist in planning and executing system upgrades and migrations.
Documentation:
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for support processes, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles.
  • Document and escalate complex issues to senior support engineers or development teams as necessary.
Customer Training:
  • Provide training and guidance to customers on the effective use of IBM Datacap features and functionalities.
  • Conduct webinars and workshops to educate customers on best practices and new features.
Collaboration:
  • Work closely with development, QA, and product management teams to communicate customer feedback and contribute to product improvements.
  • Collaborate with other support engineers to share knowledge and best practices.
Monitoring and Optimization:
  • Monitor system performance and usage to identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Implement performance tuning and optimization techniques to enhance system efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).:
Technical Skills:
  • 3+ years of experience in technical support or a related role, with a focus on IBM Datacap or similar document capture solutions.
  • Proven experience with IBM Datacap installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in IBM Datacap components and architecture.
  • Strong understanding of OCR, ICR, and data capture technologies.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., VBScript, JavaScript, .NET).
  • Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle).
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and networking concepts.
Certifications (Preferred):
  • IBM Certified Solution Designer - Datacap Taskmaster Capture
  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals)
